Samantha Pitout was overjoyed when her sweetheart Justin proposed to her on a hot air balloon flight. Just under a year later, the wedding went off without a hitch. “We chose to have our wedding at Thandana Wedding and Conference Venue because we know their food is amazing. Plus they co-ordinate the wedding, which took a lot of stress off our shoulders. Family pulled together and helped with the cake, guest favours and my wonderful mother even made all the bride’s maids dresses. We are fortunate to have fantastic parents who always go out of their way to do special things for us. Our wedding was certainly the joining of two wonderful families.”
After all the wedding stress, we had the most amazing opportunity to go on honeymoon. We spent some time on the MSC Sinfonia. We stopped off in Mozambique and then at the Portuguese Islands before ending in Durban where we extended our trip by a couple of days at a resort. I think it did us the world of good to connect as a married couple before we returned back to normal life. We had so much fun on the cruise liner. We enjoyed the live shows and all the activities on the boat. We sipped a cocktail and watched the sun set over the ocean. We did a lot of sunbathing and we soaked up the peace of just being there together… just the two of us.
Back in South Africa we ended our honeymoon off with a stay at Rocky Bay. Here we flew a kite and did some more sunbathing. We spoke of our lives together and our plans for the future. We even went to a mall where we watched a movie at a dining movie theatre. We sat on reclining chairs while watching. The only thing I snacked on was wasabi popcorn. Our honeymoon was filled with special memories we will treasure forever.
