A kaleidoscope of culture

The town of Dundee was a celebration of cultures with their first ever old town market. Parts of the street were closed off to traffic to allow the festivities to go off without a hitch. There were Indian dances, boere music, pannekoek and curries.

Motor show

It was a jam packed programme at the annual Wesbank Motor and Outdoor Show. The Newcastle Show Grounds were transformed into a beehive of activity, from pizza eating competitions to a rugby tournament. It was an event not to be missed and despite the rainy weather, most people still made sure they soaked up the action.

Spring tea party

It was a chilly day at Naunton’s Guest House as the Northern KZN Caxton team got together for their annual spring meeting. The theme this year was ‘crazy hat tea party’. And it truly was a crazy hat affair. Some amazingly original ideas were seen. The Ladysmith Gazette men literally wore doughnuts on their heads, while the ladies opted for headgear that is more feminine like tea and biscuits. Everyone made an effort to dress to the theme despite the chilly weather.

The CANSA Association held a meeting to launch their plan to host a Relay for Life event in Ladysmith at the beginning of next year. Naunton’s Bed and Breakfast graciously sponsored the entire event.
