The Winterton Pink Bra Walk had ladies and men dressing up to create awareness for breast cancer and to celebrate health and wellness. The walk started late afternoon at Pizza Hut on the R600. Despite the chilly weather, walkers came in good spirits to show their support.

Grace Community Park Church grounds were abuzz in Newcastle with a festive bazaar. Delicious homemade goodies were on sale from desserts to traditional dishes. Crafts and toys made it a shopper’s dream. It was a morning of friends and sunshine at the church grounds.

Lenmed La Verna Private Hospital held a fun walk to show their support for the fight against breast cancer. Men, women and children came to support this worthy cause. Some dressed up in colourful costumes which made for a fun atmosphere. The proceeds for the day were donated to Hospice.

Celebrating wellness

The TFS Wholesalers Group held a Cancer Awareness Day in honour of all cancer heroes and heroines. Ms S Mabaso from CANSA was also there. She gave an eye-opening presentation and answered some questions. Everyone had fun learning and commemorating this important day by dressing up in pink.

A joyful treat

Sunnyridge residents were in for a real treat as the NG Kerk De Kruin hosted its much anticipated Vreugtefees Bazaar. Visitors indulged in delicious curry and rice, pancakes, puddings, cakes, sweet treats and traditional wors-rolletjies, while enjoying the sound of music in the background. Moms enjoyed a delightful tea and coffee garden, children were kept busy on the jumping castles and at the tombola, and for dad, a mouth-watering sheep braai was on the go.

The fallen

Moths and friends gathered at Siegetown Moth Hall in Ladysmith to commemorate the fallen at the battle of El Alamein. This annual event kicked off with a parade, followed by a three-course meal. Moths and friends had a wonderful evening dancing the night away.
